Welcome Home!

This is young Toby, taking part in his favorite activity...chewing on his hands. Despite the fact that he has not supposedly discovered where his hands are and that he can control them, he has an uncanny knack of sticking them in his mouth and sucking on them. He makes sucking noises so loud they can be heard by our neighbors. As soon as he works out that there are fingers on the the end of those hands, this boy is going to be a thumbsucker, there is no doubt about it.

Since he is only five weeks old, Toby has not had too many adventures yet, however, since he was born, his mums feel as though every day has been an adventure! What is going to be inside that diaper when you take it off? Is there going to be an explosion of some kind during the diaper change? Is this burp going to coincide with a projectile vomit? Is the brocolli that Mama ate last night the cause for the unending, ear piercing screaming today? There is always something going on around here.

One of the most delightful incidents so far took place a couple of days ago. Toby recently started to spitup on a regular basis. Typically, it happens right after he eats, but sometimes he saves it up. Mama had popped out to run some errands--capturing a few moments to herself. Toby and Mum were staying home having some quality time. All was going great. Toby was happy as a clam when mum kissed one cheek and cooed, "Kissing Toby's cheek." Then the other cheek, "Kissing Toby's other cheek." Then Toby's nose, "Kissing Toby's nose." The problem came as she leaned down to kiss Toby's chin. At this point the boy let go of one of his newly learned spitups, combined it with a sneeze, and Mum ended up with curdled regurgitated milk up the nose and all over her glasses. Ewwwwww... Mama...hurry home!!!
