Birthday Boy

Here is our not so young hero shaking his stuff with some birthday groceries. Yup, Toby turned one June 15! We can hardly believe the time has gone by so fast.
For his birthday we had planned to hold a big Hawaiian style Baby Luau to thank all the wonderful people who have been part of our lives over the past year and who have helped us with master Toby. But things have been a little hectic over the past few weeks and we just couldn't get up the energy to organize it.
We all ended up with a horrible virus and combined with a very attractive conjunctivitus. Master T actually spent 3 "lovely" nights in Hotel PeaceHealth (aka, the Hospital). His eyelid became infected from the virus and began to swell up, until it was completely swollen shut. After mucho worry by his two mums, a CT scan, many pokes and prods, IV antibiotics and then 10 more days of oral antibiotics, we have our boy back to normal. His eye is still a bit puffy, but it is now in good shape and getting better everyday.
AND, we are all getting back to our usual schedules/lives! Thank goodness we have such awesome docs and nurses here. Mama got to stay in Hotel PeaceHealth with T. The funniest part of our "vacation" was that the crib was big enough for an adult, so she each night she climbed in and slept right next to T. The little boy thought that was hilarious!

This is the way beds should be in Hotel hospitals. Thanks to the staff. Grandma wanted to come and climb in, too.
Love Grandma
