A Boy’s First . . .

Toby’s first day of life is a bit of a haze to Mama, thanks to the reaction to the morphine she had, except for a few particularly delightful moments concerning a particular first for the Boy. Mummy had just left the hospital for a bit to feed the cats, shower, and get ready to spend the night. Godmum Ruti and Uncle Doug and Auntie Odessa stayed behind to assist Mama with the Boy. At some point, Toby pooed for the first time. You know the stuff. Ick. T’s three mobile adults met the job with gusto. Find the diapers, where are the wipes (there aren’t any—use papertowels), and how do you do this??
Toby walked them through the operation with patience only a 12-hour old boy could have. After a good cleanup, the adults left him to air dry for a bit. Well, you might guess it…. He pooed again. And with all three attentive adults circled around him, he double-timed it and peed—hitting each and every one of them…TWICE. I don’t think any of them will let him air dry again in his life.
