Toby Turns Five

Our number one son turned five this June. How is it that he is now FIVE?? I remember when he first starting going to Seven Stars, the amazing Day Care/Preschool that he attends.

He seemed so tiny compared to the big boys who were on their way to kindergarten. They were so confident on the monkey bars, their speech was so clear, and they weren't wearing diapers! Now, our boy is one of the big boys!

For the Big Day, Toby invited loads of friends to come to Bounce Gymnastics and romp around for two hours of hilarity. If they could have, they would've stayed longer! He chose and helped Mama make a Shoe cake from the Mother Goose classic "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe" fame. Thank goodness five-year-olds are forgiving with how things look!

The best part for Toby was going up in the bungy cord and doing full-on flips. Seriously...the boy immediately pulled himself upside down into a pike and flipped himself! Mama was too amazed and didn't get any pictures of it. Rats!

In September HE will start kindergarten--ONE WEEK FROM TODAY. He is now one of those big confident boys. And he is getting big. Growing tall and lean, but definitely not filling out. Definitely still our little fly weight.

A week after he turned 5, Mama found a small two-wheeler, ripped off the training wheels, and he rode immediately! He's had a couple crashes. Mama keeps reminding him of the numerous times she rode into the ditch and had to walk her bike home with bloody knees. He jumps right back in the saddle and goes even faster.

Stay tuned for summer highlights...Toby's Hip Hop Dance Camp, Ohio madness, Strawberry and Blueberry picking, upcoming trip to coast and Newport Aquarium (our annual coast trip for Mama's birthday), and much more. We've been very bad at updating this blog, here and we regret it! Don't lose hope! We're back in the saddle ourselves. More cute pics asap!

I love the cake and knew is was the shoe that the old women lived in "who had so many children she didn't know what to do". It is lovely and yummy looking.
